Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) is one of California’s leading law firms. The firm’s diverse team brings a seasoned perspective to California’s complex legal landscape for public and private entities, with particular strength in the areas of education, labor and employment, construction, complex litigation, corporate, taxation, and water. In June, two different entities recognized AALRR once again as a top law firm.
Construction Executive (CE) magazine named AALRR as a Top 50 U.S. Construction Law Firm for 2024. The magazine developed its ranking by surveying hundreds of law firms across the nation. The data collected included each firm’s 2023 revenues from its construction practice; the total number of attorneys in each firm’s construction practice; the percentage of each firm’s total revenues derived from its construction practice; the number of states in which each firm is licensed to practice; the year in which the construction practice was established; and the number of construction industry clients served during fiscal year 2023. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted the aforementioned factors in descending order of importance.
For over 45 years, AALRR has represented clients in all aspects of construction, including private construction matters of all varieties, public and private facilities, real estate, and business matters throughout California. The firm is involved in, and holds leadership positions in, many construction-related organizations. AALRR provides full construction-related services for its clients, ranging from preparing and negotiating contract and bid documents, construction administration, claims, litigation, and more.
“We are thrilled to once again receive this recognition from Construction Executive,” commented Anthony Niccoli, AALRR’s partner leading its private construction practice. “We are passionate and dedicated to serving our clients in the construction community. AALRR is the top-ranking California-based law firm on the list. As our construction practice continues to increase in breadth and depth, we expect to continue climbing in the rankings.”
The American Lawyer also named AALRR to the 2024 Am Law 200 list. The Am Law 200 list is published annually by Law.com Compass and The American Lawyer. The list ranks law firms using key financial metrics and analysis of their performance during the prior year. AALRR was ranked four spots higher in 2024 than in 2023.
“We are very proud to once again be included on this year’s highly prestigious Am Law 200 list,” commented James Baca, Managing Partner. “Moving up the list by four spots from last year’s ranking is a clear indication that AALRR has its priorities straight. We will continue to focus on hiring the best talent the market has to offer and providing the highest levels of client service.”
AALRR’s public sector clients include more than 450 K-to-12 school districts, community college districts, and universities, as well as cities, counties, and special districts. It also represents diverse business entities, from small, family run businesses to publicly traded corporations. The firm, which has 250 lawyers, opened its office at Hacienda in August 2010. The firm’s eight other offices, all in California, are located in Cerritos, Fresno, Irvine, Marin, Pasadena, Riverside, Sacramento, and San Diego.
